Bolton Walking and Outdoors Appreciation Society
Established way back in 2011, BWOAS is a community walking group of volunteers, friends, acquaintances and other members of the public based in the West Pennine Moors area.
We are a friendly, inclusive and supportive bunch providing a safe environment for others to enjoy nature, casual exercise, socialising and a positive atmosphere.
Over the years, hundreds of people have been able to enjoy different walks by joining the walking group. It is currently more popular than ever, with a pool of around 300 "regular" members who make up this very special community. New walkers are always very welcome.
Committee members and volunteers are involved in planning routes, organising participants and navigating.
Walks are NOT professionally led or guided in any capacity, and are varied. Some are very easy and accessible, other requiring a little more fitness or experience.
There are FREE outings every Monday and Wednesday evening that take place anywhere around the Bolton and South Lancashire area, and into Greater Manchester.
Participants are very welcome to suggest routes that can then be "reccied" and risk assessed before being added to the schedule of upcoming outings.
If you would like to learn more about the FREE group walks organised by Bolton Walking and Outdoors Appreciation Society, simply have a look at the Facebook profile for information on upcoming outings.
You can book your space on any Wednesday walk from the previous Monday via the TICKET TAILOR site.
